My famous American topic is Thomas Jefferson
He was born in Virginia on April 13, 1743.
He grew up in Shalwell, his family’s plantation. He liked to paddle a canoe, and loved to read.
He studied law with George Wythe. Thomas Jefferson was the one person to write the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was ambassdor to France. Thomas Jefferson was the first Secretary of State. He was the third President.
Thomas Jefferson had six kids, but only one girl named Mary lived to be an adult. He was a gardener and grew crops.
He was the third President and arranged the Louisiana Purchase, which doubled the size of the U.S.
He died on July 4, 1826.
I chose to research and write about Thomas Jefferson because there are a lot of books about him!
