My Best Hair Cut Ever
By Chloe, 3rd Grade

Chloe3-1:

Teacher: Mrs. Jean Landry

Cut! Cut! “Ow! That hurts!” Hear that sound? I do. My head hurts, because the barber is pulling my hair. My hair is getting cut! I was stuck with a pair of scissors in my hair but I still have gum in my hair. It all started when my mommy was tired of brushing my hair over and over again, so she wanted to cut my hair. My mommy is full of freckles and she is pretty from head to toe. She is full of kindness and she is as sweet as a butterfly.

I was watching a cool show. It was called Robbers and Sheriffs. I said “cool.” My mommy walked in and said, “The time is here. We need to go get your hair cut, Chloe!”

The next thing I knew, I found myself in a haircut shop. I was nervous that maybe the barber would cut too much. Maybe he wouldn't even do it right! I was afraid that maybe that guy would not like me, but then I smelled bubblegum, and the smell calmed me down. Then he put me into a big chair where I couldn’t even touch the floor!

My mommy told the barber to cut off three centimeters. I smelled more bubblegum. All of a sudden, the barber yawned and the gum fell out of his mouth and onto the scissors. He didn’t see the gum on the scissors. He thought that the gum went in the trash, but it didn’t!

The barber cut a centimeter off and finally realized that he had put gum in my hair! He started to scratch his head and also thought that the scissors fell on the floor! But the scissors stuck to my hair! My mommy got mad at the barber so she asked for her money back. Chloe3-2: The barber only gave her ten dollars instead of the fifteen dollars that she paid. Then we went out of that hair cutting shop!

My mommy and I went to a new place called Great Cuts. I was so scared that my mommy was going to get mad at this barber too, only this time the barber did not eat candy or bubble gum. I calmed down but I was still nervous that the barber would cut too much off or do it wrong! I hid behind my mommy but the lady found me. I was scared. The lady introduced me to the man who was going to cut my hair. I still did not know if I was going to trust him or not, but I sat down in the big chair anyway. I closed my eyes and thought to myself, “I am not going to like it.” I closed my eyes for about 5 more minutes, then I felt him stop.

I opened my eyes and screamed! I loved my new hair cut! There was no more scissors in my hair and no more gum in my hair. It made me feel pretty! As soon as I got out of the chair, I jumped for joy! Chloe3-3:

While we were going home I told my mommy that I had been a little scared but I got over with it. I went in the sunroom to wait for my daddy. I knew I would hear him. (The sunroom is the best place to listen to see if someone is here without getting seen in my house.) I listened and listened with my sister. Then I heard my daddy.

Before I went to show him my new haircut, my sister and I planned a special show for Daddy. My sister made fake tickets and gave one to our daddy. Then she got a plastic jar while Daddy was reading the ticket. After that, he put the fake ticket in the plastic jar and sat down in the front room. My sister introduced me and I walked in covering my head.

I moved my arms away and Daddy was thrilled! He loved my hair style.
