Stitches
by Cora, 4th grade
One cool fall evening I went to a park.
At this park, my sister Audrey coaxed me in to playing Marco Polo! I was running as fast as a cheetah when I fell with a humongous KERPLONK! (My dad could hear it all the way across the park! (He even said so.)
I started crying so loud! It hurt like… like…. I can’t explain! It hurt so much!! Oweeee!!!! I had hit a stone frog! It was so fast I didn’t know what had happened!
We rushed home to get lots of ice, and my mom rushed me to the emergency room!
At the emergency room we had to wait! (imagine that.)
After we got in we had to wait again! Then the doctor came in and he started telling me what he was going to do! Like he said, “I’m going to numb your chin so you can’t feel me!”
He also said, and I quote, “You are braver then most grown men that come in here!!” (Even ask my mom!)
I was so excited! I had to calm down.
He also gave me his tools!! He did that because I was really brave!!
I liked my stitches! I got seven stitches! I liked them because they were cool and blue!
I still have the scar! It’s right here, on my chinny, chin, chin!
