Holm Elementary School

Mayor John W. Hickenlooper came to our school last semester. It was an enjoyable time. He went through the whole school. It was an amazing adventure!

When the mayor came he walked around the school. When he was looking at the school he turned into a cheetah. He ran so fast he was in the 4th grade in one minute. He took us on his back to the library, then he turned into a librarian. The soft comfortable sofas turned into beds. We got ready for him to read to us. It was a good book.

On the way back to class, the mayor kept on changing into one animal after another. Then all of a sudden the school was gone so we all ran over to the field and we ended up in a tree. I was at the very top of the tree and I almost fell out of it. but I only slipped down a little. Mr. Hickenlooper helped every one down by turning into a monkey.

We got down and headed for the bus. By the time we got to the bus stop, he turned back into a person. He said, “I cannot change into animals any more because I have to go back to work.”

We gave him all the stories we wrote for him. We said “Can you maybe get us a field trip to go to City Hall?. It was so much fun today. We have to say goodbye now and see you soon. Don’t forget us. We hope that you enjoy our stories. We will miss you and have fun with your job. Thanks for coming. That was an amazing adventure!”
