Seuss-Lorax:

How much do you know about the wonderful children’s book writer Dr. Seuss?

Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 2, 1904. Theodor’s parents called him “Ted” as a nickname when he was young.

In Ted’s early life, he loved to draw, but his teachers didn’t allow him to draw. After Ted finished high school he entered Dartmouth Collage in New Hampshire. After Geisel finished Dartmouth, he entered Oxford University in England to please his father. Theodor wrote to a magazine company but, someone at Oxford didn’t want him to publish magazine stories when he was supposed to be learning. So Ted decided to write using a pen name: Dr. Seuss.

In Dr. Seuss’s adult life, he became a cartoonist after he came back to America. In 1927 Theodor Seuss Geisel married Helen Palmer in New York.

Did you know Dr. Seuss wrote and illustrated his own books for children? Well he did. Dr. Seuss enjoyed writing and illustrating books for children.

In 1991, a sad thing had happened to Dr. Seuss. Theodor Seuss Geisel died on September 24! He was 87 years old when he died.

Dr. Seuss changed the world by writing and illustrating good books for children to read. Now children like to read! They like to read because the books Dr. Seuss wrote because they have funny rhymes and his drawings are funny too.

This is the real look at Dr. Seuss! I didn’t know much about Dr. Seuss before I started my report about him, but now after I read and looked up Dr. Seuss, he is one of my favorite children’s writers. I have read some of his books and I loved them. I think Dr. Seuss does a wonderful job writing goofy books! You should read all 54 books Dr. Seuss wrote! Dr. Seuss is still remembered today by the readers who enjoy his books.
