"Home of the Prairie Dogs"

I Want My Bone!
by Shea

It was a beautiful day in fall when my sister came into my room to wake me up. She told my dog Quick, to jump up on the bed by patting it. He leaped into the air and landed right on me.

SheaBone1:

“Owww, Quick that hurt!” I said with a stretch. I pushed him off the bed and got up.

I could tell my mom made her famous Apple Cinnamon Pancakes, so I shuffled down stairs to see if my dad left any for me.

When I got downstairs the front door was open and the T.V. was on. I could smell the beautiful fall leaves, and the Sunday paper. I heard some noises out back so I ran to get my jacket and I stumbled out the door.

Outside my sister, Hailey, and my dad were raking leaves, and my mom was sitting on the bench talking to Quick.

When the pile was stacked up nice and tidy, my dad shoved Quick’s bone right into the pile. All at once, the end, that moment was over, every thing got quiet...

A bird chirped and Quick went nuts! His tail was wagging, his ears were pointing up, and he was barking! He jumped like he was trying to touch the sky and landed right in the pile!

SheaBone2:

Everyone started laughing, and leaves were flying everywhere! Quick found his bone and pulled it up with ten leaves in his mouth. Then he wanted to play!
