Mrs. April Word-Silverman

Mrs. April Word-Silverman has been teaching for twenty-two years, and has been in Denver Public Schools for twenty-four years. Her highest degree was a Masters in Whole Language. What makes her a good teacher is: “Dedication, creativity, a sense of humor, flexibility, and having fun with kids. She thinks the best thing about teaching is “Having fun learning with the kids”. The worst thing about teaching is: “All the paper work, students that don’t want to learn, too much testing, not enough time to teach everything and all the interruptions”!
This writer feels that she is a wonderful teacher! I think the best thing about learning from her was getting to do cool things in her class and what makes her a good teacher is the fluent way she reads. I think she is one of the best teachers at Holm Elementary School!
