Independent Reading
As we begin the 2020-2021 school year, the Bear Valley language and literature team would like to share some important resources to help your student engage in independent reading. While we begin the school year remotely, students are strongly encouraged to continue reading for at least 20 minutes per day. While independent reading time will not be built into your scholars language and literature class during remote learning, your student should continue to find engaging and appropriate books to read. A great time to encourage your student to read is during the tutoring block from 1:15-2:00 at the end of each school day. If your student does not need tutoring or additional virtual support from their teachers, they should use this time to read a book of their choice. Below, you will find some important resources created by the language and literature team to help you scholars find engaging books. As always, please have your scholar reach out to their language and literature teacher through Schoology message if they need additional support!
