Schoolwide Student Expectations

Our grade level teams are committed to planning various celebrations, incentives and rewards to celebrate our student’s success, growth and accomplishments throughout the year. In order to participate in school-wide celebrations, it is an expectation that all students uphold the following expectations throughout the year.  8th grade families will be notified regularly about this scholar’s current eligibility and academic progress through monthly progress reports.

Please review the information below to better understand what requirements must be met.

If Your Scholar Does Not Meet This Requirement…

Attendance must be 92% or higher

If you are curious in learning more about the Bear Valley attendance policy, please click reference our website. Please remember that your scholar’s attendance percentage  will drop due to unexcused tardies and absences.

At Bear Valley, we are committed to providing your students alternative pathways to support your student in unofficially raising their attendance percentage such as attending working lunch or Saturday school. These opportunities will support your scholar in earning unofficial percentage points in hopes to become eligible for continuation week activities.

Completed iCAP for 6th-8th grade

iCAP is a student portal of questions that allows students to think through their goals and future plans. Completing all questions for 6th-12th grade is also a Colorado High School graduation requirement.

If students have not completed their iCAP or need help completing it, there will be regular times throughout the school year to get caught up during SEL. You can also reach out to our school counselor, Ruthie Perez, by emailing Email Ruthie Perez if you need additional support.

A “C” or Higher In All Quarter 4 Classes

Students will need to be passing all their classes with a C or higher.  (no F’s or D’s). If you are interested in learning more about our grading policy, including our late policy and make up opportunities, please click here

Based on our grading policy, students are welcome to re-attempt or submit missing or incomplete assignments until this date. Remember teachers may also offer academic support on a by-need basis during lunch.

No Major or Repeated Behavior Incidents

Students need to meet school wide expectations and have no major or repeated behavior incidents that result in an in school or out of school suspension.

If a student causes harm to our school community and/or does not meet behavior expectations, students can re-earn their eligibility through engaging in restorative practices with our school community. This repair will be decided by our restorative culture team in collaboration with the 8th grade team and will be student-dependent.
